James H. Thompson opened the doors of Thompson Print Solutions, dba, Superstore Printing in San Antonio, Texas in 1964. The company’s priority was to meet the printing needs of small businesses in the area at a lower cost than the competition. By 1998, when James’s son, David Thompson, stepped up to manage his fathers company, Superstore Printing had started to evolve into an Internet based e-commerce company, although one that was still dedicated to meeting the same high priority customized customer needs. A huge breakthrough came in 2001, when the company developed breakthroughs in both internet-based graphic design tools and in production methods that slashed the cost of low volume in-house printing. Using state of the art online graphic design tools and an upscale printing process the company produced short run, small quantity orders of business cards in record time. This drove down the traditional printing and labor costs and allowed Superstore Printing to offer business cards at a much lower price than traditional print shops. The company is currently able to offer custom personal and professional business cards, letterhead, envelopes, brochures, flyers, auto decals, window decals, magnets, labels, photo magnets, gift certificates, memo books, stick note pads, loyalty cards and so much more at the lowest pricing available.
